Meet the teacher
Hello everyone, I'm April Hickman and I look forward to a very exciting year with my 8th grade science students! I have been fascinated with science for most of my life. It was a high school Biology teacher who inspired me to teach. I completed all twelve years of school in a small town in southeast Georgia. As a high school student, I served as captain of cheerleading squad, the school Queen, and best of all, president of the science club! Through the years of raising my family which consists of a husband, two sons, and a daughter, I completed a Bachelor's degree from Arizona State University West Campus. Additionally, will complete a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction by November of this year. I have taught a total of seven years. I began my experience in a Kindergarten classroom just after graduating ASU. The following three years I taught high school Chemistry, Biology, and Physical Science. The previous three years were spent in a Life Science classroom with seventh graders. This will be a productive year as I plan to challenge my students to move beyond the ordinary to the extraordinary!
